I was blessed to have been referred to Rosen Moss Snyder (RMS) law firm by another law firm and grateful to have such an outstanding, knowledgeable, dedicated lawyer, Chris Harris, Esq., representing me with my disability case. My pudendal nerve condition was extremely rare and complex. Chris had to deal with the worst insurance company in the industry that pulled out every trick in the book to deny my STD claim (after initially approving it for a few weeks) and then deny my LTD claim, including denial of my original appeal. This insurance company dragged out my case over a 2-year timeframe, but Chris worked diligently to overcome every obstacle that was thrown our way and won both my STD and LTD claims upon appeal. I was awarded my full benefits. Just like all the other reviews, I found Marc Snyder to be outstanding with helping me get my Social Security and private disability benefits. He is very knowledgeable and kind. I was in a car accident in South Philly in 2021... sitting at a red light when a police cruiser ran the red light, swerved to avoid another car, and then smacked directly into me. I went with Rosen Moss Snyder for long-term disability insurance and Social Security benefits claims. They were one of the only firms in the area to actually handle both within the same firm, especially ERISA claims, which are extremely difficult to handle. If you have a long-term disability policy through your employment, then your policy is handled by ERISA. One of the things I thought I would mention first is my experience with Marc Snyder; he handled my LTD benefit claim. His demeanor is calm and personable, though also with sharp knowledge and experience with handling LTD claims. Even though, like any other company, they are a business, Marc never made me feel like it was that. He was always available by email or phone and responded every time. His mannerism was always kind and understanding, and he never made me feel like I was a burden or that the firm was out of touch with me. In today’s world, this is admirable and so needed in these types of claims. People are hurting and scared to lose their income, and to have a firm you’re working with make you feel like they understand what you are going through, well, it sure was worth mentioning first and with strong conviction. Kelly Ann handled my Social Security claim, and she was also kind, and her demeanor was very calm, which is quite important in a hearing situation as this demeanor passes off into the court as well. I was finally approved for SSDI and received benefits promptly and without any problems after a long appeal process that SSA had positioned me into. Denials are extremely common with SSDI applicants, and I was no exception. Though, she handled my claim from beginning to end as anyone would come to expect and rely on. Recently, I received a denial letter from my LTD insurance company after years of being on claim. It was quite the blow, though here again, all too common. The speed in which this denial was handled, along with the course in which it was handled, was impressive. Following all of Marc’s instructions and doing all that was necessary, with the guidance of Marc, I was quickly put back on claim. Then, I don’t know how he did it, but within a matter of weeks, Marc approached them with an offer of a settlement of my LTD policy, which I had expressed an interest in, and he actually made it happen, it was unbelievable, really. This policy had an unusually long 5-year “own occupation” period compared to most ERISA LTD policies through people’s employment, so this claim was very tedious and drawn out. Each year I was on claim, the LTD company hounded me profusely for updates on my current disability status. Though, Marc was just as attentive and pursuant with the claim from beginning to end. In dealing with both types of disability claims with this firm, it definitely felt as though they had a very kind mannerism to them, along with the diligence and expertise to handle the appeals process people are forced into from both SSA and long-term disability insurance companies. With all of this said, I would definitely refer others to Rosen Moss Snyder. If not for what we all hire lawyers for in the first place, being how they handle the claims, then for their personable nature alone, along with their kindness and patience with claimants just like me. For 2 years I collected long-term disability insurance from my employer and suddenly was arbitrarily denied coverage. Anybody having trouble with their disability company or ERISA-governed disability company, you must read this lengthy review in its entirety so you can make the right choice as I did. Earning a large salary and not expecting to ever use a disability policy, when the time comes, they will strategize and use loopholes and sometimes criminal behavior to deny and terminate claims. It's just that simple. When we are at our weakest and most ill, they attack. True predators. ERISA is a 50-year-old book of laws that govern a disability policy when it is purchased through your employer. It has not been updated since the '70s, and insurance companies employ lobbyists to give goodies to our elected officials with the sole purpose of not changing these laws so as to have complete discretion whether they want to destroy your life or not with a claim denial. If you do not retain an attorney knowledgeable in the ERISA laws, you literally have no chance of winning your case/appeal. Marc Snyder knows these laws inside and out. Our initial consult showed me that. I met with an attorney who claimed to be an ERISA disability specialist before Marc, which was very scary, as that attorney suggested an appeal consisting of two pages. I ran like hell out of that office and fortunately found Marc Snyder shortly thereafter. I have not been able to return to work for 10 years, three terminations within three years, and after the second one I did not have the strength or energy to fight, thanks to orthopedic injuries, chronic pain, cancer which triggered autoimmune disease. Quality of life was almost 0. I needed somebody to take over, and Marc Snyder did. He listened closely to my case, got a good feel of the insurance company's ridiculous strategy, has strategies of his own, and presents the truth in a way that can't be debated, which can't be denied by any insurance company. He's compassionate, confident, intelligent and will not back down to hordes of attorneys on insurance company retainers. I did a lot of attorney interviews since I had been through several terminations, and Marc Snyder was the only one that knew of the strategic and illegal acts that take place under this ERISA law. I had no idea such a law existed; it was first made to protect the employee but soon was twisted through to the benefit of insurance companies. This is why they don't want it changed at all. If you're reading this, then you must be having a disability insurance problem, and I know you're afraid, and I know your life is hanging in the balance, potentially losing your house, car, insurances, etc. Do yourself a favor and retain Marc Snyder. He really does care! He will tell you like it is, and he will tell you the strategy to fight back to put you at ease. Unleash the dog on the intruder, right? Our testimony is regarding my husband’s disability, the mistreatment by our insurance company, and Marc Snyder’s professional and expert handling of our case: Until he went out on disability, my husband, Steve, had worked for a large financial institution for 15+ years. He had been an excellent employee and, through hard work, was promoted to a VP. In the fall of 2013, Steve developed a “chronic persistent daily headache” – which is a constant migraine that doesn’t stop. Initially, Steve’s employer’s insurance company approved the short-term disability claim. In the summer of 2012, I was told by my rheumatologist that it was time for me to consider going out of work on disability due to the severe pain and fatigue caused by my fibromyalgia. I tried to continue working, but by October 2012, it became too much, and I went out on my employer’s short-term disability. At the end of short-term disability, I transitioned to my employer’s long term disability and applied for Social Security Disability benefits. Like most people, my application for Social Security benefits was denied, and at the two-year mark, my employer’s disability plan terminated my benefits. Even though my doctor still declared me unable to work, I was faced with the potential of having no income.
